It was a special and impactful presentation showcasing the teamwork that it takes to give these animals a much deserved second chance. We were able to share videos of each animal’s journey thanks to materials provided by our volunteers and videos compiled by two very talented videographers and volunteers, Chris Brinkman and Cassandra Swiatek.īeyond each video, those incredible volunteers who assisted in the rescue of each of these animals were also able to get up to speak about their experiences and the feeling of being able to release them back to the wild. Our four stories included the journeys of a grounded Common Loon, a mange Fox, overwintered Bats, and a Snapping Turtle who had been beaten. Our theme for this year’s gala was “From Rescue to Release”, focusing on the stories of four unique animals and their journeys through OWC.
